  1. I have an original copy of this picture. How can I tell what it is worth? It is beautiful.

  3. I had never heard of Hans Andersen Brendekilde until I saw his painting Abel’s Offer in the April 2013 issue of the Ensign magazine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So beautiful. Thank you for letting me see these others of his.

  4. I have a copy of one of Brendekilde’s paintings and I cannot find any reference to it. Perhaps you may recognise it. A lady in a black dress is painting on the roadside watched by three little girls with a baby cart and two men wearing hats and clogs. I’d love to know where this is and/or more about the painting.

    • I only know a Brendekilde’s painting (dated 1893) with a similar subject: a man dressed in black painting by the side of the road watched by three children and another man…

      • Thanks for your reply. I have a date of 1885 near the signature so it’s a different painting. Besides, the lady is the artist in the painting and the two men are watching. The girls are the same ones in another painting on the internet by Brendekilde where the girls are picking blackberries so maybe he is related to these girls (?). I’ll keep looking for an answer to this although it’s hard to find any reference to the painting.

    • Jill, I will add many more paintings of Brendekilde in the coming days, although at the moment I do not have news about yours.

    • As most of HA Brendekilde paintings it is from the little village Jyllinge by Roskilde Fjord.

      • Thank you for telling me about where the painting was painted. I’ll look into that town on the internet (I am in Australia) and see if I can find out more. Who were the children? Who was the woman painter in the painting? There might be more information available locally.

  5. I have a picture of his that is of a little girl holding flowers on a path headed to the ocean. I can’t find any other picture of his like it. More information would be appreciated.
