  1. I am seeking permission to use two of Goodall’s paintings in a novel I am about to publish. The pictures will be tiny, black and white and on a genealogical tree page. These are the blind man and the Egyptian girl. Please set me on the trail to get this permission. Thanks.

    • They both entered the public domain (in the United States copyright term expires 70 years after artist’s death), so I think you can use them in your book. Just remember to quote the artist’s name.
