  2. Lizzie was my great grand aunt and although we haven’t found her death she was definitely alive in 1905, she was born in Dunfermline in 1858 and was also well known as Lizzie Mack.
Her father John Lawson was also an artist.

    • In fact there is not much biographical information about her on the internet. Anyway, I corrected her dates. Thank you very much.

      • She and her father John are a bit of a mystery, her mother died in 1905 and that’s the last time I can find any trace of either of them. She was certainly a prolific illustrator as I have found about 40 books that she illustrated. She also produced some books with her husband Robert Ellice Mack. Some books were published as late as 1936 with her illustrations but when she did them is unknown. Her father from whom she obviously inherited her style also illustrated quite a few books, including some ‘children’s ones.

    • So far I have been unable to find pictures of any of her family apart from her sister, my g grandmother Louisa. I have found out recently that Lizzie was alive in 1916 in Bath, Somerset but in reduced circumstances.

  4. where is her original illustrations ?

    • I have not been able to locate any of Lizzie’s originals. I haven’t even come across any record of the sale of any of her work.
I have recently received a picture of her younger sister, my great grandmother but it’s very small, but nothing about the rest of the family and no trace of her daughter.

  6. Greetings, I am trying to figure out the painting you have titled ‘Christmas’. Looking elsewhere I see it contributed to Franz Skarbina a German artist 1892. Are you sure this is a Lizzie Mack painting?
